EP 7: A LETTER TO NILE BY HAZRAT UMER, WHY?| EP 7 ACROSS NILE IN 11TH CENTURY| A TIME TRAVEL STORY

SHIP WENT UPS AND DOWN
…..‘Lessons and lectures even on an educational trip. Isn’t there a bell system worked in 11th century to get rid of these interpretations?’ Hassan looked around for a clock.
‘Don’t ask for it, dude. A 40 minutes bound periods are indigestible most of the time,’ Murtaza got worried on his idea.
‘This is done for the…,’ the teacher was about to finish the lecture when their ship shuddered with a sudden jolt. They all rolled to one side of the room and then to another corner.  It was about to ups and down. They tried to hold any support from the rolling vases, lanterns, wooden pens and even the paper leaves but all went in vein. The ship seemed to be crashed soon. It was revolving like a fish tail.
The trembling stopped after a while and it came to a less intense swinging mode. Some students dared to come outside.  A small boat was rushing fast after hitting their ship. It was no use to follow them except to yelling on them. Another decorated wedding ship was also stopped there. The small boat also smacked it. The captain of the ship looked the ship for any destruction and forced it to move after a while.

IT WAS A PART OF PLAN
‘I told you to be conscious. What if the ship ups and down. Why you crashed into wedding ship,’ one robber ticks off their head.
‘Don’t tell me. I know how to do my work. The crash with wedding ship was just fun. We also have a right to enjoy sometimes.’
‘What do you think, how much time we’ll have to wait for them,’ the third man asked.
‘Not more than half an hour, my men are waiting near. Soon they’ll be in our control.’ They turned their small boat to the near bank.

ROSE PETALS AND A LETTER OF HAZRAT UMER TO NILE

That wedding ship again started its journey in the noise of ‘tabla’ and ‘tazmir’. There was a feast and fun in that ship. Some boys were dancing and enjoying herbal tea in the music. The beautiful voice of tazmir was overwhelming the atmosphere. It was fun looking the 11th century dream.
‘Look bride and a groom,’ Hassan pointed towards one side excitedly.

A group of young girls was dancing in a circle. A beautiful bride and a handsome groom were cherishing in their circle. Bride wore white gown with white veil on it. She wore a heavy gold jewelry likes of pharos queens and princess. It was enhancing her beauty.
‘Hey, why are you staring at us?’
‘I think they want to join us,’
‘Then we should send an invitation for them. Listen Ibrahim, listen Ahmed. These boys are calling you.’ A lot of girls gathered at the edge of wedding ship. Their commentary was following their cackling.
‘Oh my god, these girls are fast and furious like Nile, after all they drink from here,’ Hassan held his ears and moved back.
‘But I still wants to have chat with them in my time,’ Hassan thought of face book chatting on travelling back to 22nd century.
‘Travelling forward not back,’ Murtaza over heard his mumbling and grinned.
Suddenly a bulk of rose petals fell on them like the rain drops. Bride’s family was throwing petals from the bridge. They were also moving slow behind the wedding ship, as their ship got some faults during the accident and now it was struggling till the nearest safe riverside.

The scene of scattered and flowing petals on the fast flowing waves was eye catching. Murtaza fled some petals from his head, in the water. Colorful petals were convening their face on indigo background.  Nature’s artistry was at its boom.  Murtaza tried to touch and arranged some of the petals. Surprisingly those petals started to arrange in a specific pattern by themselves. Their assembling was finished now. After sometime a clear writing pattern was embossed on the waves.
WHY HAZRAT UMER WROTE LETTER TO NILE,EGYPT
letter to Nile river by Hazrat Umer

‘What is this written? I think I have read this before. Where? Where?’ Murtaza read the print again and again in astonishment.
‘Oh, I know it, I remember now. These are the words of the letter from Hazrat Umer to a furious Nile. I know it. I know it. Yes, it is,’ Murtaza called Hassan, who was busy watching the wedding ship.
‘Dude, they’re having something tasty there. Can’t we join them? That future scientist should arrange a mouth full of cuisine during our journey in past,’ Hassan felt the aroma of roasted fish in the air and came to Murtaza.
‘Look Hassan, these petals are telling us something,’ Murtaza excitedly pointed towards the petals.

‘I saw some writing over here.’
‘What? Where? These are just scattered petals, which are telling us to go down for lunch. Your empty stomach is drawing illusions on water.’
He was right, now the petals were flowing fast in a random way. There was not any imprinting now.
‘It was not my illusion. I read it myself. You know the Egyptians sacrificed a young girl on the 12th night of June, every year to please the Nile for centuries. After sacrificing, the Nile flew in flood and the whole land around bear fertile crops. When the Muslims conquered this area, then Hazrat Umer abolished this custom. Not any girl was sacrificed that year but…,’ Murtaza stopped for a while by looking at the Hassan.
‘Where are you going?’
‘For lunch, what is special in this story? Men had been sacrificing a girl for years to please the river and rain gods etc. These all are myths,’ Hassan showed a total disinterest.

DID HE HAVE ANY REPLY OF HIS LETTER?
‘This is not a myth. When the girl was not sacrificed the Nile dried out that year and it was drought all around. Though practiced Muslims, local Egyptians insisted to persist their custom again. It was the case of their survival after all,’ Murtaza continued.
‘Really, I didn’t know about this. Did they were stopped forcefully.’ Hassan stopped there in amazement.
‘I think nano forgot to tell this story,’ he got embarrassed…..
