Pakistani top blogs, blogger sites under content-stealing charges.
Content stealing, copying one's hard-earned and well-researched text, or plagiarism is a big problem for many websites nowadays.
A fresh and SEO optimized work is google favorite and aids the sites to rank higher that why sites hire content writers and compete to produce original.
Unfortunately, as a shortcut, there also creep many sites that copy other sites' hard work and publish it under their name to garner large traffic towards their blogs. Mostly, these copycats are hard to detect but recently an entertainment website of Pakistan accused top blogs of Pakistan for stealing their content by providing links of copy work.
The reviewit.pk is an emerging blogger website that has grabbed a large audience among leading blogger websites in a short period of time. As its name suggests, reviewit delivers drama and movie reviews along with the latest happenings from the celebrity world.
In their recent article reviewit not only accused the leading blogger sites on stealing their content but attached the links of posts that copied content from reviewit.pk with the slight changes in the headings and subheadings.
For example, a post on review.it on 27th July, 20
'Inspiring male characters in Pakistani dramas'
was copied right(according to reviewit) after 3 days on pro-Pakistani on 30th July, 20 with the title of
'Top 10 male characters in Pakistani dramas'
Further, the original post of reviewit posted on 15th August, 20 titled
' Famous Pakistani couples with huge age gap'
Was copied on Siasat.pk with a slight change in title on 20th August, 20.
Interestingly, the posts were copied right after 3 or 4 days the original post and upon peering upon the content, the material and pictures also appeared the same which lead to see reviewit.pk accusation justified. But things be sorted sort out without listening to the other blogger admins. Inspiration can be another justification for stealing content tough.
This may be the first step from reviewit to inform the sites pro-Pakistani and siasat.pk about their concerns of content stealing. The admins of reviewit has tried to keep their tone low while striking the chords of big blogger sites and advised them to do some hard work rather than copying their work.
Reviewit don't say the accused blogs to put down their copy posts yet (doesn't it seem to give and get backlinks to big sites, just a thought!), but it retains its status by somehow declaring that they have an eye on content stealers.
Pro Pakistani and Siasat.pk have not shown any response to content-stealing charges against them yet.
It is the first time when some website has come up open against stealing and plagiarism in Pakistan which is positive for the content writers who toil hard to produce original, SEO optimized, and attractive work on google.
We Fusionstor-ies, as an emerging blogger website understand the discomfort when someone steals your researched work and divert traffic to that copied work without putting an effort or giving any credit to you. A famous ladies blogger group on Facebook, PLB is also running a campaign against copyright violations after receiving complaints from female bloggers on stealing their content.
