The merit-based scholarships for Afghan students under HEC is a great initiative of the government of Pakistan
 
Mr. Mansoor Ahmad Khan Pakistan's ambassador to Afghanistan gave details of Pakistan scholarship for Afghan students. Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship 2021 is offered to Afghan students under higher education Pakistan HEC.

The embassy of Pakistan in Kabul and the other 4 cities of Afghanistan conducted an entry test for Afghan students under Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship 2021 being offered by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. Candidates can apply online for free.

There is no application fee for applying for Pakistan Scholarship for Afghan students.  It is a fully-funded scholarship.

How to apply

Afghan residents can apply online on the website. Download application form. Fill in online and submit it before a date with the required documents uploads. There is no application fee for applying online for Allama Iqbal Scholarship for Afghan students. There is no need to send applications in hard or printed form at the hec office as these applications will not be entertained or accepted.

If your Tazkira number is less than 8 digit then candidates can add 0 before tazkura number to get register for scholarship.

Important Note:

Just selected candidates are required to submit the documents.

Not any documents will be accepted other than email.

Subjects' allotment will be done after verification of documents.

Here are instructions for scanned copies of documents:

Documents that is scanned must be from original documents.

Documents witb stamps, text, signatures, etc. should be scanned it in color.

Remember to include all pages of documents that contain any type of text/writing including backside.

Everything in the document should be visible on the scan copy, especially embossed stamps.

Last Date of Submission of Documents via email:

The deadline to submit online documents has been extended to September 20, 2020.

If the documents are not verified by the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan, then should send a scanned copy to HEC. Verified documents may kindly be submitted to the HEC after final selection.


The applications for Pak-Afghan Scholarship are open in October/November every year. The entry test is held in the main cities of Afghanistan in February with the help of HEC & embassy officials. The selected candidates get a fully-funded scholarship from the government of Pakistan.


Eligibility criteria:

Afghan residents

Afghan refugees in Pakistan can also apply for foreign HEC seats for scholarships.
The applicant should between

17-23 Years for Undergraduate scholarship for Medicine and engineering

He/she completed the 12th Grade exam no later than 2016.

Minimum marks required in Shahadanama/12th Grade are 65%.

The candidates benefiting from any other scholarship are not eligible to apply.

The candidate must have acquired the requisite qualification on or before applying.

The candidate will be required to return and serve Afghanistan after completion of a degree in Pakistan.


Entry Test detail

The entry test was held on 6th Feb 2021 simultaneously in five cities of Afghanistan.  The government of Pakistan scholarship for Afghan students entry test was held simultaneously in Kabul, Herat, Jalalabad, Kandhar, and Mazar-e-Sharif on 6th Feb 2021, to accommodate the majority of candidates.

The merit-based scholarships for the Afghan students under HEC is a great initiative of the government of Pakistan.

In 2021 under Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship, around 22,000 candidates participated in 1,000 scholarships out of which 100 scholarships are reserved for female students. HEC of Pakistan, the higher education department of Afghanistan and embassy officials facilitated the students at best.

Nobody could deny the significance of higher education and Pakistan hopes that the selected candidates would contribute to the development and progress of Afghanistan after completion of their studies as Pakistan wishes for peaceful Afghanistan.

Also, their valuable contribution to nation-building would bring the people of both countries closer.

Allama Iqbal scholarships are being offered for both public and private sector universities of Pakistan at the undergraduate, Master, and Ph.D. levels.

The scholarships are a big opportunity to the Afghan students who desire to enhance their skills and contribute their roles in the prosperity and progress of the country.

HEC would fully look after all the successful candidates in leading universities during their stay in the neighboring country.
