Student Response on exam decision

'Decision regarding board exams are final,'

SSC exam start Date: 20th May 2021
HSSC exam final date:
10th June 2021

The tweet has disappointed and  brought to nothing for Metric and FA/FSc. students that were hoping the postponement or cancellation of board exams due to corona virus. The daily tolling corona cases in Pakistan gave fire to rumors that final board exams may be canceled like it happened in 2020. Students were confused whether to continue their exam preparation or stop it. Then Shafqat Mehmmod tweet made the things clear,

'Students should start preparing and working hard.'

And hard working students are feeling real relieved as they can focus on studies now. It is the time when the whole world is adapting to real challenges fabricated by corona virus. Students are most effected because of long closure of schools and educational institutes. It is also fact that online classess are not beneficial like physical ones but we have no choice other than to adjust in the new situation. We also advise all students to concentrate on concepts, practise and memorize all lessons. SSC annual exams are around 1 month away.
It is evident that the blessings and joy of Ramzan and Eid will be shadowded under exam pressure this year. Thanks to corona!

'Will the decision of physical exams change if corona situation gets worst?' students were feeling uncertain.

'The decision will not be changed and no one should have any uncertainty in their mind.

Everything has been done keeping interest of education in mind.'

Of course this tweet increased the exam pressure on SSC and HSSC students and Shafqat Mehmood doesn't forget to cheer the students.

'My very best wishes to everyone.'

#examcancelkaro #examwarriors are trending on twitter after Shafqat Mehmood announcement regarding board exam dates.

At one side if many students complained about inaccessibility to internet to attend online classes then on the other side many students admitted to spend time while watching movies and playing games on comments.

We all know that it is real frustrated to deal the situation but Shafqat Mehmood has tried his best to calm the students down by saying that,

'There is a time in life to study and prepare for challenges of the future. And then a time to enjoy fruits of this labour for the remaining years. No one has achieved anything significant in life without hard work. Looking for shortcuts or free passes is a road to nowhere

It is also important to mention that many education boards of other countries are conducting physical exams on time including India, England etc in spite of corona fear.

'Around 4 million students are appearing in board exam from class 9 to class 12 across Pakistan. There is no change in the dates of scheduled board exams.  All SSC and HSSC will start from the third week of May after Eid ul Fitr. Datesheets of SSC and HSSC exam will be shared by respective boards very soon, ' Shafqat Mehmood announced in the latest press conference held on 6th April 2021.

'Also classes for grade 9, grade 10, grade 11, and Grade 12 will be resumed from 19th April 2021. Students will attend the schools following the strict Corona SOPs. They will prepare for board exams there,' meeting further revealed for students.

However, students of Matric SSC and FA/Fsc HSSC were hoping for a delay in the dates of the board exam due to the surge of the 3rd Corona wave. There were also rumors of the cancelation of board exams but according to Shafqat Mehmood, board exams will start from the third week of May. It is clear that there is no chance of postponement or delay of SSC and HSSC exams. Students are required to concentrate on preparation from the smart syllabus as very little time is left in exams. The policy is evident that no student will be promoted without an exam whether it is at the junior level or higher level of education. Exams will be held under strict SOPs.

Also O level, A level exam will be held as per schedule. A Level exams are starting from the last week of April. Whereas O level exam will start from 10th May after the ministry of education request. The date sheets for Cambridge exams are online by British Council but SSC and HSSC students are still waiting for date sheets.

The press conference was held after a meeting of education and health Ministers at NCOC on whether to open the educational institutes in most Corona-affected areas which are already closed till 11th April and to discuss the exam schedule.
