Army Medical College, Rawalpindi,  founded in 1977, is a dream college of every student who chooses medical as a career and want to serve the humanity and country as a doctor. AMC RWP. is situated at a beautiful location with updated and equipped lecture halls and laboratories. AMC RWP has 5 male hostels and 2 female hostels. Army Medical college is affiliated with NUMS(National University of Medical Sciences) now and take admissions under eligibilty criteria of NUMS.

As per PM & DC Entry test is mandatory to take admission in any medical college in Pakistan.

All seats are available on open merit and there is not any self-finance program in Army medical college Rawalpindi and NUMS Affiliated Institutes. There is not any quota seats for provinces on open merit. There is not any gender discrimination in open merit seats in NUMS affiliated institutes.

• Girls can only be apply and selected at Army medical college or NUMS Institutes through NUMS entry test on open merit seats. Girls can join Armed forces after completion of MBBS degree when seats are available but not directly.

• Boys have two ways to enter in NUMS or Army medical colleges:

1. One is through entry test and there will be not an physical test if you passed the entry test to make open merit. These students will be called NUMS Cadets or civilians. They'll pay their regular fees. After passing MBBS, NUMS cadets can't join Pakistan Arm directly but they're preferred on any seats available.  
2. Other is through  "join Pakistan Army" official page and to apply from AM or medical links. These students will go through Army selection centre physical and medical test. They'll called medical Cadets. They'll not any fees. Tution fees/hostel fees will be from Pakistan Army. Medical Cadets directly join Pakistan Army after completion of MBBS as they signed a service bond with PAK ARMY earlier.
3. A few seats are reserved for wards of Suhadah in Army medical colleges and at NUMS on half fees after they pass NUMS entry test.

After completion of MBBS from NUMS,  Civilian or NUMS Cadets need to apply to join the armed forces hospitals on available seats. If selected then cadets from NUMS get 6 month basic military training from Kakul and get Captain rank and join CMH or any armed forces hospitals.

How can I join Army medical college as cadet? Eligibility criteria
According to official website of NUMS

•  The applicant should grab 70% or above marks with 12 years of certification (HSSC) FSc.(Pre-medical) with Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

• Minimum 70% marks in aggregate in A levels or equivalent in foreign university with combination of Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Math to apply for admission in Army Medical college, Rawalpindi. The age limit to apply at AMC RWP. is 17 years-25 years. The Candidate need to sit & pass the entry test to 
• All Pakistani nationals including AJK/GB.
• Any student who has cleared HSSC part 1 and is waiting for the result of HSSC 2 can apply for NUMS entry test.

Weightage Formula for admission in NUMS or AMC RWP.

• 50% marks   FSc(pre-medical) ,A levels or equivalent
• 50% marks    Entrance test conducted through NUMS

For admission on open merit seats

• Minimum 70% marks in HSSC or equivalent exam

• Minimum 60% marks in entry test

• Minimum aggregate   70% marks

Admission on Foreign/Dual National/ Overseas Quota seats

A foreign student who appeared in SAT-2 with minimum 550 marks each in Chemistry, Physics/Math, Biology can apply.

Tuition fees at NUMS or Army medical college:

Tuition fees at AM for MBBS is about  2 lakhs or  PKR 220,000/year which is payable once every year in a four year degree program. An estimated total fees expenditure of MBBS in public/government medical colleges and at AM college is about 10 lakh or  100, 0000 PKR.

Tuition fees for foreign students is  $12,000/year at Public medical college & at Army medical college in Pakistan.

Entry test is of two types at army medical college

1.         It will be computer system centered for the applicants from Islamabad. The test will be taken in multiple sessions depending on the number of applicants. The computer based entry test is distributed on number of days. The applicant will choose the exam date and session if he/she opts for computer based test. To endeavor computer centered test there is a facility of mock test.
2.        The other option is paper-centered test. The test will be taken at Rawalpindi on a single day. Candidates will have to complete the response sheets well in time.
