National symbols of Pakistan
- What are national symbols?
National symbols are places, things or signs that depicts the significant features, vision and goals of any community, nation or country.Like all other nations Pakistan also has national symbols. We'll tell you here why, when and how these national symbols were decided for the country.
Urdu may also known as “Army of languages” or laskari
zuban was taken as national language of Pakistan in 1947 because of its close influence
from Persian and Arabic languages. Urdu language was started to develop in
India in 12th century after Persian, Arabic and Turkish speaker
invaders stayed here and mingled the words in their talks, from the local
languages like Hindi and punjabi. This created a soft-spoken new lingo Urdu which was widely adopted
by the Muslims of India. Though spoken Urdu
is close to spoken Hindi language but its written form is inspired by Arabic alphabets.
Urdu is widely spoken and understood in all provinces of Pakistan. Urdu is
second official language of India and a minority recognized language in UAE.
Shalwar( a loose trouser with plates) and Kameez (a
knee-length long shirt) is a national dress of Pakistan since 1947. Shalwar
Kameez is a decent and comfortable outfit which is worn in all provinces of
Pakistan with minor variation in styles. Women wear long dupatta (scarf) with
shalwar kameez to cover their head and menswear waistcoat on shalwar kameez
mostly on formal occasions and for Friday prayer. Shalwar qameez was introduced
to sub-continent after three-centuries long Mughals empire flourished here.
Apart from local dhoti (a dress for men in India) and saari( a woman attire in
India), shalwar kameez became popular and adopted by Muslims all across
sub-continent.

Markhor
Markhor or screw horned mountain goat is a national
animal of Pakistan which is found in northern areas of Pakistan. If you visit
Gilgit-Baltistan, Hunza or skardu then for sure you’re going to meet
long-horned male marchers to female steadily climbing up on steep and tough mountains,
fighting with harsh weather and killing poisonous snakes of area. The foam
which comes out of Markhor mouth on chewing is used for different medicines
too. Pakistan intelligence agency ISI logo also uses markhor picture as its
emblem due to its ability to fight and kill any cruel.

Deodar-Himalayan Cedar is a tall, evergreen coniferous tree with cones and needle-like leaves which is found at Margalla hills Islamabad, in valleys of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in Kashmir in abundant. If you want to see Deodar forest and to pick cones for diy flower decorations, then Margalla hiking tracks are the best tourism choice of the year. Sugar cane juice
Sugar-cane juice or "guney ka rus" "roh" is declared as national drink of Pakistan by government in 2019 after a public survey. Sugar cane is commercially grown in areas of Pakistan and used to make sugar and other products. Sugarcane beverage shops are widely seen in all areas of Pakistan and people like to drink this healthy juice.

Hockey brought to Pakistan during British rule and
became popular in local very soon.
Pakistan joined International Hockey
Federation in 1948 and is the founding member of Asian Hockey Federation in
1958. Though Hockey is not much popular in Pakistan nowadays but a few of us
know that Pakistan has been most successful country in the Hockey with four
winnings of Hockey world cup in 1971, 1978, 1982 and 1994. Pakistan drives the
best Hockey performer titles amid all hockey playing countries with most number
of winnings. We hope that Pakistan Hockey again saw its boom and bring world
titles to country as a national game of Pakistan
- National fruit
Mango (summer)
Pakistani mangoes are the world famous for its juicy pulp and sweet taste. Mangoes are widely grown in areas of Sindh and Punjab province and are exported worldwide. The king of fruits is widely deserved to be Pakistan national fruit. You know, I love the long scorching summer in Pakistan just because it has mangoes in its lap.

These three principles are given by the founder of Pakistan Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He wanted to see Pakistanis to stick to their faith, remain together and disciplined. Islamabad Highway is one example where this motto is fixed at left side small hill and can be seen from far. Every school kid should know and follow this national motto to make our country prosperous.

Indus river dolphin
Indus river Dolphin is national mammal of Pakistan. It is freshwater rare fish that is found in river Indus and across cities of Kotri, Sukkur, Mianwali and Chenab water. This beautiful mammal can be seen playing and flushing the water on visiting the river indus banks in Punjab and Sindh. It is about to extinct and special care should be taken to avoid its hunting.

Faisal mosque is a beautiful mosque situated in the heart of beautiful capital city Islamabad and known as national mosque.
Pakistan monument is a national monument of Pakistan that is constructed on a shakarparian hill, Islamabad in 2007. Its high and magnificent elevation just like petals of flower, make it visible from far.
Bindhi or Okra is national vegetable of Pakistan. It comes in summer and eat fondly throughout country with different recipes.
Pakistan monuments four bigger petals shows four cultures and small petals depict small areas likes Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Every petal has fabolous artwork on it and symbolize the unity of Pakistan.

Allama Iqbal
Allama Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938) is a national poet of Pakistan as he gave the idea of separate homeland for the Muslims of India and also lesson Muslim youngs to follow the religious and moral values through his poetry.
