History Based Dramas in Pakistan have Sad History-Drama with links must watch

This is a time when all think, learn and enjoy all from screens. Here parents and young are much in looking for history based dramas that can enculcate love and passion in the young kids for their country. It is summer vacation time, Corona lockdown break or independence day preparations, everyone urge spending it watching healthy stuff on screens. They want to see their heroes coming out of history books fighting and winning the Pakistan history on the screens.

Unfortunately, despite having more than 30 big entertainment channels and giant media houses there are not much history based dramas in Pakistan. History based dramas are not only enhance information, gets you closer to your roots but grabs enormous popularity and rating as well. However, these dramas need much dedication, research, and big budgets. It may not be wrong to say that the first two seems to be the major reason for not making historical dramas. History based have a sad history of getting into account from production. Houses in Pakistan. Private production house owners points fingers towards state channel for not producing such dramas even having big budget. On the other side, Pakistani state channel is cherishing on a success after retelecasting foreign translated drama Ertugrul and didn't show any work on it.

Being a Pakistani TV viewer, big fan of Pakistan history, I'm not regret saying that History Based dramas require research, hardwork and big budgets and our Private and State TV channels lack all. 

We've compiled a list of few in hand history based dramas with links which you must watch with your kids so that they can connect to their roots and know the importance of Pakistan.


1. Jinnah say Quaid

"Jinnah say Quaid" was a very hit TV series that was telecaster on ptv in late 90's. The first episode of drama was telecated on 14th August and last was released on 25th December. The story is about autobiography by Fatima Jinnah. In the first episode Fatima Jinnah is writing about the life of his brother Jinnah. The story starts from the birth date, family, and siblings of Jinnah. Then the scenes of Jinnah going abroad for studies, his life in England, his first and second marriage are very heart touching. The last episodes of drama shows the struggle of Mr. Jinnah to achieve his goal Pakistan. There are characters portraying Mr. Gandhi, Mr,. Nehru, and other leaders of subcontinent that makes the story much interesting, informative and appealing. The black and white effects of drama seem weird at start but you forget about it as the story takes pace. The character of Jinnah was performed by Jhangir and Ratti Jinnah by a girl who was doing O levels then. Unfortunately we even don't find a link of drama on ptv home official YouTube channel which is featuring Ertugrul with pride. Here is a link of drama

Daastan

History drama in Pakistan sad history


Another popular history based drama Daastan was telecated on Hum TV. The drama was based on the real incidents of the partition time. It was an adaptation from Razia Butt Novel 'Bano'. Sanam Baloch performed the main character of a Muslim family where she is a young college girl living in Delhi with her very close Hindu neighbour's. As soon as the partition announced, the same neighbours attacked on their house, killed all family including her pregnant bhabi. She is raped and in trying to escape, a sikh young kidnapped her. He brought her home, and marries her. She lives 7 years with him, had a son but all this time she tries to fled to her relatives in Pakistan. After 7 years she is able to cross border. Pakistan is all about she dreams and wishes all the time. On reaching Pakistan, she is again abused by the local and this deterioted her mental health. The drama is very intese and based on real facts. Kids should watch this drama under proper parental guide.

Aangan

Period drama History in Pakistan


Sagan is another effort from Him TV to touch the history based drama in Pakistan. The drama was telecasted in 2018. The drama again was based on Kahidja Mastoor Novel Aangan. It focuses on the social impact of British slavery and of freedom fight on the families living in that period. It is a romantic story of a family having two daughters. 

Drama Aangan is not uploaded on official YouTube channel as per channel policy but you can watch it via other links


And that's it... 

Unfortunately we don't have any other single history based drama on our list from our prestigious entertainment channels. There is a movie based on Quaids life that also was released in 24 years ago is a good to watch for history lovers. Here you must have listen at the famous song of movie 'junoon say, Ishq say milti hai azadi...' 


Movie Jinnah (1998)


Pakistan has very rich history and there is a list of heroes where dramas and movies can be produced as movies on Mughal emperors, and heroes of freedom fight like Tipu Sultan. The popularity of Ertugrul is an example for media houses who are reluctant to make history dramas fearing to bear loss. 

Other famous Pakistani dramas to enculcate love for Pakistan are Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Sunhery Din but they are not history based.
