HAT TEST Syllabus, Sample Papers, HEC FOREIGN SCHOLARSHIP TEST FOR MS AND PHD Programs

 

 

HAT TEST Syllabus, Pattern, Marks

Only HAT organized by Education Testing Council is acceptable test for the award of FULLY FUNDED Foreign scholarships under HEC and foreign scholarship programs. You must visit HEC official website for opening of any fully-funded scholarships abroad in different countries and apply for the scholarship. In short, you'll receive an e-mail for HAT Test as per your field.

 

HEC HAT TEST SYLLABUS, PATTERN, SAMPLE PAPER

Education Testing Council (ETC) arranges HAT test for eligible applicants for different scholarship schemes of HEC such as Commonwealth scholarship UK, Turkiye Burslari, US and others. Education Testing Council ETC arranges HAT test in June/July and December/Jan (tentative) each year. Validity of HAT test is 2 years, so, previous 2 years best HAT score will be considered for short listing. It means, if a candidate is successful in HAT in last two years, he/she may apply for further scholarships with the same score.

A HAT Score of 75 and above is considered a safe score. A HAT score of 80 and above gives you a good chance of selection in foreign university scholarships. You should apply in more than one universities with HAT 80 score.

 The candidates who secured above 75 score in attached category, should proceed for admission at least in 2 Universities There is a fair chance for non attached category with 70 plus HAT Score.

In simple: 75+ for attached and 70 for non attached.


HAT Attached category that you will be appointed as a faculty member before scholarship, HAT Non attached category mean, you'll be appointed after phd completion.



   GAT-General Test Conducted by NTS is not applicable for these scholarships.

ETC will arrange HAT test. HAT is an aptitude test comprises questions of English reasoning, analytical reasoning and Mathematical reasoning. There are question of English and Mathematics along thoughtful reasoning questions.  There are four categories of HAT: HAT I, HAT II, HAT III, HAT IV. Also HAT tests are:

 HAT LAW, HAT-GENERAL, FDP-HAT-I, FDP-HAT-II, FDP HAT-III, FDP HAT-IV, Foreign PhD LAW, Indigenous/Foreign-LLM, Indigenous-LLB.

 The applicant will give any one of above category as per its field.

HAT test comprises 100 MCQs with four options each.HAT passing score is 70/100.


One sample English analytical reasoning question of HAT may be:

A passage, poem or article is given and a candidate will be tested for problem solving, critical thinking, patterns, key elements, relations, within the given data through different questions. HAT English reasoning sample questions may be like:

One sample Mathematical reasoning question of HAT may be:

Candidates are given the series of images, graphs, patterns, sequences to take out differences, key points, problem solving, logical conclusion, prediction etc. Do you remember Math Kangroo test at school level. It is like that.

Analytical questions from your field i.e. Law, Physics, Chemistry, Biology will be part of test.

The students who have an experience of appearing  International Kangroo Math, Kangroo linguistic test at school level must more familiar with analytical approach. i recommend you to search online and solve IKLC, IKMC, Past papers kangroo tests from junior to senior school level to practice the international level basics of analytical questions.

The real purpose of test is checking the student’s analytical skills in the relevant fields.


Also there are many books available in market that aids you preparing HAT. The important think before giving HAT exam is to come out of ratification mode, simple and straight MCQs etc.

 Analytical reasoning tests of HAT assess a candidate’s ability to study information and apply logic to find patterns or make inferences from the provided data.

A candidate must able to scrutinise speech, documents, diagrams, charts and graphs, and gather the most relevant information. Those with strong analytical skills will consider how key elements within that information relate to one another, and are more likely to notice crucial patterns and details.

Analytical reasoning tests measure a candidate’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills, time management and the pressure taking strength. Students have to reach a logical conclusion based on one or more given statements, or premises. Also Inductive reasoning involves taking specific information and making predictions based on that.

Candidates do not need any specialist knowledge, or certificates for analytical reasoning tests, but they must be able to think logically apart from apparent and pay deep attention to detail. Those who demonstrate strong analytical reasoning skills are generally more intelligent, quick to learn and more likely to improve over time in a role. Students who remain updated what is happening around them, love preparing and giving entry tests, scholarship test HAT is not much difficult for them. Studying syllabus books thoroughly and analytically, reading the articles, comparing international point of views helps you solving analytical questions.

They students with analytical skills are able of decision-making and problem-solving are key.

 

 Eligibility criteria may be slightly varied for different programs and different countries. HAT passing score is minimum 70% and above for most of foreign scholarships. A candidate doesn’t require submitting separate application for SAT test if he/she has applied on any scholarship through hec portal. The applicant will get an email about SAT test after the application for scholarship is accepted.

 

Here is general Eligibility criteria for HAT if you meet the criteria then you are eligible to apply:

 

Be a Pakistani/AJK national, Duel nationals are not eligible.

For PhD scholarships, candidates must have a minimum qualification of MS/MPhil/ME or equivalent (18 years) before the closing date.

For MS/M. Phil scholarships in Engineering Technology, Candidates must have a minimum of sixteen years of education and should be registered with National Technology Council (NTC), Pakistan.

Maximum one-second division throughout the academic career prior to the final degree.

Candidates must have a minimum CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 in semester system or first division (in the annual system) in MS/MPhil/ME/Equivalent degree.

 The Applicants provisionally or finally selected in any of the scholarships scheme in the past are required to obtain NO Objection Certificate (NOC) from relevant HEC-Scholarship Section before submission of their application. Copy of this NOC must be emailed at ossphase3@hec.gov.pk before closing date of application submission i.e May 30, 2021.

Application submitted by any such candidate without obtaining NOC may be rejected at any stage of selection/award process”

  For foreign Master degree (18 years), can I apply for this scholarship scheme if you have to provide HEC Equivalence Certificate of foreign degree and must be eligible to apply for direct Ph.D. program.

A selected candidate, will I be required to submit the Agreement and other related legal documents, to serve in Pakistan.
