Why TURKISH DRAMAS WERE BANNED FROM PAKISTAN TV-bad cultural impact-fusionstories

Pakistani dramas were airing and earning pretty good even with repeated saas bahu stuff. By hook or by crook, the Indian dramas were also making the room at Pakistani audience when a sudden but fresh wave of Turkish Urdu dubbed dramas overshadowed all stuff on Pakistani channels.
Ishq e mamnu, Mera sultan, Fatima gul, Fareeha, and many more TV Turk dramas gained overnight sensational fame at Pakistan which hypnotized the local audience with their magical spell.  Let’s have a look that why Turk dramas gained overwhelming attention at both Pakistan and India and why the airing of any new Turkish drama has abandoned at Pakistani channels?

MORE POWER TO WOMEN WAS SHOWN IN TURKISH DRAMAS

In Pakistani dramas, women are mostly represented as weakest figure of the family who receives upsetting conspiracies against her and waits for the right time throughout her life when other characters are sorry for their vicious stunts and this mostly happens forcefully at last episode whereas at Turkish dramas the women were shown as powerful characters who have the ability to retaliate at any situation. Hoorem Sultan and Fatima Gul didn’t wait for the right time but knew to mold the situations as they wanted. This was the most appealing part of Turkish dramas.

STUNNING BEACHES, HOUSES, AND LOCATIONS

Another striking feature of Turkish drama was the selection of locations. While talking about the ISHQ E MAMNU , the beach house at the beautiful city of Istanbul with wide lawns, inside house lifts, 24 hours candid servants were also grabbed the attention of the local audience.

STRONG PLOT WITH CRIME AND SUSPENSE DIP

Turkish dramas remained successful with keeping the audience stuck to TV till the last episode by strong storylines which diversify with crime and suspense scenes other than of family politics.

HISTORY LOVERS

Many of us studied about the decline of Ottoman Empire and obliging position of Hindustani people towards Ottomans at World War 1 at our social studies books and it was knowledgeable to know their real history and power of Muslims to the world at that time through dramas like MERA SULTAN.
There are other factors too like finest acting and expensive sets which made these dramas real entertainment but why these dramas are not airing on TV. You might think of only one point;

A CULTURAL CLASH

Though being Muslims but by attiring the European values, Turkish dramas were far from Pakistan’s social and religious limits. The dresses were exposed to more skin at women body; deep necklines, bare legs, and thin blouse were reaching to fashion minds of local women.
Women were involved in extramarital affairs which were just a shock and new for the local Pakistani audience where this right is always given to men in any case.

YOUNG MINDS WERE TRAPPING BADLY

It was reported by many local and foreign news reports that after the release of Turkish dramas, many Pakistani and Indian teenage girls tried to escape to Turkey to meet their fairy independent world which they perceived after watching these dramas. It was actually an introduction to new world for the women who never stepped out of their homes alone.

OK, were these the reasons that Turkish dramas were banned at national channels then the answer is a big NO.? Turkish dramas were aired after proper censor here and the spell was breaking with time as SherZad, Aik haseena aik deewana etc were average rated dramas here. The real fact is that the Pakistani local media houses feared of invasion of Turkish dramas instead of working more on their drama plots, instead of doing experiments with historical stories such as the great Mughal era, etc, instead of come in competition worked more on blocking any foreign content on local TV channels.
why turkish dramas are ban in pakistan?
If this ban on one side gave relief to Pakistani audience from psycho saas bahu Indian dramas then on the other side let them fail to spot their travel and cultural ventures through Turk dramas. Turk dramas are available on Netflix but right now there is no hope to watch the magical spell on national TV channels. Every spell breaks with time, better things filter and make their space in any storm, and so many drama viewers want to watch the Turkish dramas again on TV to enjoy more diverse stories, locations, and adventure.
