After crossing Gujranwala Cantt., DHA Gujranwala, you pass by a few small cities, green fields, orange orchards and a traveler has to stop on Chenab toll plaza in Wazirabad city.

Now the roads are smooth and less crowded after crossing chenab toll plaza. Here you cross by the Main city of Gujrat on both side GT road. Here you can enjoy showcased furniture shops on both side of road and enter another main city Kharian.
Kharian is not only famous for its main Army Garrison depot and a lavish cantt life but it is decorated with big markets with branded outlets, petrol pumps, and restaurants of big chains on both side of the road. Here you have reached halfway of your travel so cars stay here to refuel the tanks.
There are many good petrol pumps and CNG stations providing washroom, rest
room, prayer areas or even a few swings for kids.
I mostly stay at Kharian Total petrol pump to refuel, to offer prayer, and start our journey again.

Now anyone can feel the difference from entering to hilly area from plains of Punjab province. The roads are almost barren without local traffic covered with heighted salt range mountains from both sides. Here you can turn right to view the world's second largest salt mines at Khewra which is a big tourist attraction. Next is National forest with a park inside if you want to catch all tourist goals.
"Mian ji ki daal" is a famous restaurant with reasonable charges to stop by in Lalamusa and to curb your hunger.
Now a driver needs to be very careful and should lower the speed while passing through Sohawa and Dina cities as these cities are situated on salt range mountains.
The local traffic is sometimes fuss if you catch by office and school timings, otherwise the driving is peaceful here.
After crossing the salt ranges, you have to stop at Jhelum toll plaza and to pay Rs 30 as toll tax.
Jhelum toll plaza is situated at Bank of Jhelum River which is running to Pakistan from valley of Indian occupied Kashmir.
