SAT in Pakistan-Scholastic Apptitude test registration, SAT I & SAT II

As the name suggests SAT is an assessment or suitability test for college admissions in the United States of America which is now pursued in many countries worldwide including Pakistan. The SAT is conducted by The College Board of America to maintain the same

 understanding level of college fellows coming from different high schools. The candidates are checked for significant skills of writing, analytical study, and Mathematics in the SAT. Many countries worldwide use SAT scores for admissions in their educational institutes. 


An SAT with a good score is a requirement to get admission in many of Pakistan's top business schools, engineering, and research institutes.




SAT is mainly taken from students who completed 12 years of education and age above 16 years. You can also get registered for SAT studying in class 11 or class 12. Here are Pakistani college and universities that aggregate their merits including SAT scores along with high school board exam marks:

Also, many medical colleges accept candidates with SAT II scores.  Students with SAT II with Physics can also apply for the National MDCAT test as the mdcat test is mandatory to get admission in any private or public medical college in Pakistan.


How can I get register for SAT in Pakistan

Anyone can get registered online from anywhere in the world to appear on the SAT. Just log in to www.collegereadiness.collegeboard.org and get registered for a test with a registration of about $50 or pkr 9000 for SAT I and $64 or pkr 12000 for SAT with essay.
 You'll be emailed about the test date, paper format, and other details in a short time. All necessary information is also available on the website. 
    

SAT is held 7 times every year in America and 6 times internationally. In Pakistan, SAT is held in March, May, June, October, November, December. SAT total score is 1600 in Pakistan. An average score between 1050 and 1150 is considered competent to strive for admission in any top Pakistani business school or engineering university.

SAT format for Pakistani students

 The SAT in Pakistan has two main sections. Each section has 800 marks and candidates get scores from each section separately.  SAT total score is 1600. The duration of the SAT score is 3hrs without an essay.
 
SECTION I

Reading section:

The duration of the reading section is about 65 minutes. A reading SAT is made of 52 questions that test the reading ability, pronunciation, and vocabulary of the student.

SAT writing section:

The duration of the SAT writing section is about 35 minutes. About 44 questions are asked in this section to judge the language understanding and grammar usage of students.

SECTION II

SAT Math test:
The Math test is about 80 minutes long. Mostly 58-60 questions are asked in this section. The SAT Math test comprises both calculators based and none calculator based questions. For example, you'll be allowed to use a calculator for one part of the test and you've to put aside your calculators for another part of the test. The Sat Math test includes long and short questions, proofs or concept based questions from Algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, percentages, areas & perimeters, graphs, and geometry. All Mathematical concepts till high school are included in the SAT.

SAT preparation in Pakistan

There are many free online forums, Facebook groups, SAT preparation books, and guides available to get you ready for the SAT exam. Any student should study hard and use multiple forums to practice and prepare SAT. A student needs to focus on conceptual and logical studies, revise mathematical formulas, practice MCQs, and the ability to conceive and do the question in a short period is a must to get good grades in the SAT exam. 

What is SAT with essay
SAT with an essay is an additional skill test of language. It's not a type of written test that is perceived by the name 'essay' in Pakistan. A student is asked to read a given passage and analyze it through different questions. The duration of the SAT with the essay is 50 minutes after you read the passage.

You should go on for the SAT with Essay only if your desired college requires this otherwise focus SAT without an essay.

Difference between SAT I and SAT II

There two types of SAT. These are SAT I and SAT II tests.

SAT I

SAT I test is taken to evaluate the Mathematical skills of students and Math is a core subject in this test.

SAT II

SAT II is subject-centered. SAT II comprises 200 subjects disciplines but in Pakistan, it is limited to Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths. If anyone is not comfortable with Math then he/she can give the SAT II test. Any Pakistani student can also take two or more subjects in SAT II. For example, any student can give SAT II test to evaluate its competency in Physics, or Chemistry, etc.
SAT II test score is also acceptable in many Universities and colleges in Pakistan. Before you get to register for SAT I or SAT II you should know the college admission requirements clearly.

Mostly A level or students come from the Cambridge system look for SAT II tests with Physics to make merit in Medical colleges. 

A level or FA/Fsc students with Math give SAT and score competent marks.
