Fahad Mustafa slam Engin Altan fans

In a recent interview to Something Haute, “Jawani phir nhi aani 2” and “Mai Abdul Qadir hun” star slammed the Ertugrul followers in Pakistan responding on Engin Altan visit to Pakistan.

“For end, we’re not Turkish, we’re not Indian, and we are Pakistanis. Ertugrul (Engin Altan) came here, sat with the lion, took money and left. Just tell didn’t he? That’s all you guys were for him. There is Humayun Saeed, for us. You admit it or not, we were here and we will be here in the future.”

Recently, Engin Altan visited Pakistan on two days visit signing brand ambassador agreement with Chaudhry Textile. Engin Altan charged $1 million for the project where half is paid to him on his arrival. “Another half will be paid on his next visit to Pakistan as per the agreement,” according to Altan host Kashif Zameer.

Further, Fahad Mustafa replied to backlashes against the content of “Nand” and “Jalan”. Both dramas faced criticism for showing the content against the social and ethical family system where in Jalan, a younger sister lure her rich brother in law, marries him after ruining her elder sister’s life.

“We produce shows & dramas that furnish to the larger audiences in the country. How people liked “Ishq e mamnoo” can criticize the content of “Jalan”. I just remember that how the streets became empty when it was on air. What was in it? A nephew and aunt were having an affair living in the same house. When I make it the same, it can be called “Jalan” only, what else should I do?

Should I add the word “Shakespeare” behind the title? The audiences who are watching Game of Thrones, watching incest, are criticizing our work, asking why we don’t make such content. What should we do, make it like that really!

Upon asking about his responsibility as a producer, Fahad admitted that not all dramas and films can come with a message. “I was here to become an actor, a hero, not to tell a message. Whats wrong with it then!” he continued.

Netizens suggest that Fahad Mustafa remarks showed the frustration of local media houses against audience demand on producing competent content. This seems the media houses are not yet ready to experiment on newer ideas, gearing up for opportunities and broad spread work on TV.
