Vivo, a famous smartphone Chinese company has decided to set up its manufacturing plant in Pakistan.
VIVO has officially signed an agreement to set up their manufacturing plant in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
VIVO is expected to invest $10 million in Pakistan for generating Smartphone production facility. The unit will be constructed at the M3 Industrial Estate in the Faisalabad Industrial estate development and Management Company (FIEDMC).
In this regard Vice President Vivo, Duam Tai Ping, and Director Manufacturing Zhang Bin signed an agreement with FIEDMC in the presence of Punjab’s Minister for Industries, Mian Aslam Iqbal.
Being the seventh biggest importer of smartphones, Vivo manufacturing plant in Pakistan will curtail import charges on smartphones. Also Pakistan will be able to earn revenue by exporting smartphones around the world.
The news was also shared by the Federal Minister of Industries & Production Hamad Azhar on his twitter account.

He said that the implementation of the DIRBS system to curb the smuggling of smartphones has doubled the revenue due to the policy of making mobiles.
Earlier OPPO and Huawei, leading smartphone makers from China have hinted to set up their plants in Pakistan.
In July last year, the CEO of OPPO met the finance minister of KPK Taimoor Jhagra and mentioned his intentions to set OPPO plant in Pakistan.
The manufacturing of the renowned smartphone brand will also boost the skills and increase job opportunities in Pakistan.

'Will local manufacturing of VIVo smartphone will decrease mounting mobile prices of other mobile brands?' many are curious.
A few think that this may exhibit the competition in prices of smartphones but it'll not impact much.
Local smartphone users have also urged to have control on the quality of production of VIVO Smartphones in Pakistan.
The most evident concern on VIVO Production unit is whether it'll in real benefit the local market or smartphone production units will follow the auto, where low-quality cars are manufactured and sell on high profits.
