Malala Yousafzai Scholarships for Pakistani women
The Malala scholarships will be awarded under merit as well as on a needs-based program. Now more Pakistani women can fly to the US to seek higher education.
Earlier, the Malala Yousafzai Scholarship Act was passed by the US House of Representatives in March 2020. It has brought to President Donald Trump now. He will sign it to turn it into law.
Who can Apply
According to Radio Pakistan, the bill requires the USAID to award at least 50 percent of scholarships to Pakistani women.
Courses offered
These scholarships will be provided across a wide range of academic disciplines. The Malala Yousafzai scholarships will be awarded by the existing eligibility criteria.

USAID will brief Congress annually on the number of scholarships awarded under the program. The briefing will also include breakdowns by gender, discipline, and degree type. The percentage of recipients who were involuntarily pushed out of the program for
failure to meet program requirements with the percentage of recipients who dropped out of school, comprising retaliation for pursuing education will also brief to congress annually.
The bill also suggests that USAID will consult and pull investments by the Pakistani private sector and Pakistanis in the United States to improve and expand access to education programs in Pakistan.
Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 accusing her of committing work for girls' education. Malala survived and was sent to the UK with their family. Malala is working for girls' education since the time. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 as the youngest recipient.
Malala, the Pakistani Nobel laureate graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2020 in Philosophy, Economics, and politics. Malala celebrating her oxford success with her family.
Since 2010, USAID has awarded more than 6000 scholarships to Pakistani women to seek higher education. This bill is an expansion of the program.
