IS THIS A QUAID’S PAKISTAN?

Mr. President, with little resources but with great passion, Pakistan has been going through many destinations since it came into being. Today, when Pakistan turns 73 years old, a debate pulled me over whether this is the same Pakistan that Quaid-e-Azam has worked day and night to achieve. For which many Muslims gave their lives?

Quaid's Pakistan

Everyone asks: Is this a Quad’s Pakistan?

As soon as I come across this question, the pictures of the martyrdom of the Babri Masjid and the Muslims who were killed on the cow sacrifice in India started scrolling in my mind. The joyful colors of Eids and the peaceful festivals of the minorities in my country gave me a sigh of relief. My country's unsurpassed army, competent scientists, and valiant thinkers stood in front of me to form a optimistic reflection of Quaid-e-Azam's Pakistan. I was enjoying the trance when suddenly my eyes got opened by the noise of slogans of provincialism and linguistics. The wounds of breaking Quaid-e-Azam's Pakistan into two parts dripped out. Our conceited stab caused to loss a part of Quaid’s Pakistan.

Mr. President! Pakistan is not an ordinary country that came into being as a result of a war. It is a miracle, the fruit of the ingenuity of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the proof of authenticity of the two-nation ideology. It was the Quaid-e-Azam who liberated the Muslims of India from the slavery of British and saved them from the conspiracies of Hindus. Pakistan was the first country to be built in the name of religion and it was supposed to govern accordingly. There was no Sindhi, Punjabi, Bengali or Pathan in Quaid-e-Azam's Pakistan. The slogan of all was to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state.

Unfortunately, the dream of an Islamic welfare state became victim to corruption and profiteering. The rich got richer and the poor get poorer. Today, the Quaid's Pakistan is plagued by poverty, inflation and nepotism. The country that was built in the name of Islam, people is seen killing others in the name of Islam.  If one plays with the lives of innocent people under the banner of provincialism then other spreads bloodshed under the net of sectarianism. To date, we have not been able to agree on a single constitution, a rule of law. Some of our leaders enforced Islamic rules that were more subjected to individual appearances then their real implementation in law. Some rulers drove us to Mustafa Kamal’s liberal model. Both eventually fabricated sectarianism. If some looted to establish businesses in foreign countries then others fooled the public in the name of Tabdeeli (change). We’re still confused and experimenting on what model we need to lead our country.

The tussle of power between establishments has hollowed out the roots of this country. The real patriotism is missing.  Today's young generation is ignorant of the two-nation theory ideology which is a base of country’s formation and stability. The image of Quaid-e-Azam's Pakistan is still blurred, it is still incomplete, sir. There is still much to be done. But there is still time for us to correct our mistakes. We need to stand up as a nation and strive to uproot provincialism, sectarianism, and corruption. Sir, I would like to end with notes that it’s not right to put all blame on rulers or on system only. This is a time of self-examination. Every single in this country is answerable. Every single is responsible to make Quaid’s Pakistan, a true picture of his dream and this picture demands passion, hard work, loyalty and sincerity towards this soil. Every model to run any state needs to trail Quaid’s saying; work, work and work.

The decision is in our hands now otherwise nothing can stop our loss and embarrassment in this world.
