Maulana Tariq Jameel attempt to join the business has got mix and
match response from public. A maulana’s association with any fashion store has
amazed many. MTJ is a clothing brand which will offer outfits with comfort and
fashion. Many followers of Maulana Tariq Jameel praised him for doing the trade
to earn Hilal. Maulana Tariq Jameel also has shared his intention behind
opening a fashion brand.
Maulana Tariq Jameel has a lot of dedicated
followers throughout world. He also runs
madrassa named madrasa tul Hasnain in Faisalabad since 2000. The Maulana Tariq
Jameel madrassa provide all education in Arabic and is free for students. This
madrassa has 10 branches in other cities. All madrassa expenditures bear
through Zakat and Charity funds. He told
that he always wanted to run his madrassa without Zakat fund but he was unable
to find enough resources for it. During the pandemic last year, Allah Almighty
put the thought of this business in his mind. “By collaborating with some of my
friends, I’m able to launch this store. The income of this store will be used
to run the madrassa.” Tariq Jameel talked about his MTJ fashion brand.
We may not contradict
the Maulana Tariq Jameel pure intentions behind MTJ fashion store if we see the
madrassa culture in Pakistan.
Maulana Tariq Jameel Since the launch of MTJ Fashion store also had to face “nara” controversy. A “nara” or “drawstring” is a string made of threads and used to hold shalwar around waist. “nara” is a basic clothing part for men and women in Pakistan. One social media user claimed that MTJ Maulana Tariq Jameel fashion brand is earning “Najaiz munafa” by selling “nara” for PKR 550 and a “bunyan” for PKR 1150. The news instantly got users’ attention and followers start back lashing the religious scholar for contradicting his preaching against “munafaghori”. MTJ brand issued clarification on “nara” controversy in no time.
This clarification, interestingly, gathered
more comments and mockery from the followers. MTJ brand clarified on their
social media that they don’t sell any item like “nara” or drawstring. Many users
thanked MTJ brand for telling them what “nara” is called in English.

On whole people showered good wishes for
Maulana Tariq Jameel business venture. We all love and respect the religious
scholars. We see maulanas and religious scholars are associated with madrassas and
they make living from Zakat and charity funds that are driven to madrassa from
public and government. Usually madrassas in Pakistan doesn’t charge any fees
from students who admit there for Hifz e Quran and Nazra. Madrarass are also
providing free boarding and meals to their students. Most of these students come from lower class
backgrounds. Also many maulanas in Pakistan earn a little when people invite
them on their private events of nikkah, funeral etc. for making duaa’s. Many
families call children from madrassa on “Quran Khawni” against a meal offered
to them after reading Quran. We don’t see a direct income of these madrassas to
host a large number of students except random charity or Zakat in Ramzan. A few
renowned maulanas and religious scholars add on their income while appearing on
TV shows or selling their lectures on TV. This again is not a permanent source
of income. A normal perception against maulanas is not very welcoming other
than we need them on funerals and faily events for Duaas and Nikkah.
Maulana Tariq Jameel is not the first man who has joined clothing business. Before this, we see Junaid Jamshed joined fashion business after he decided to leave his profession of singing for preaching Islam. Junaid Jamshed clothing brand J. is well established and well liked fashion brand which is earning good in masses. Junaid Jamshed family is also getting royalty for using his name even after his death. Maulana Tariq Jameel’s attempt to join the business will help other maulanas and the graduates of madrassas that they are also useful citizens of a country. A person who has got religious education can join business for making living like any other who has got branded or English medium education. This is the time when everyone is striving against financial stress. Instead of waiting for any charity, one must look for halal ways of earning. It’ll also help to eradicate the label of financing terrorism from many madrassas.
