10 QUICK AND LOW BUDGET SNACK RECIPES-fusionstories


Here is a combination of 10 very easy, quick, low budget and tasty sweet and salty recipes. Even teens and kids can make these snacks themselves without any help, and without messing the kitchen. Homemade ice cream, Namak paray, instant pancakes and much more to explore ...

                                   1.     

BREAD FRIES


Ingredients:
4 bread slices


2 tb. Spoon gram flour (Basin)
Salt
Red Chilli powder
Oil for frying

Method:

 Cut bread slices lengthwise into 3 equal parts or into 
4 square pieces.  Mix gram flour, salt, chili powder 
and water in a bowl to make it slightly thick paste. Take fry pan and pour oil into it.  Dip the bread slices into Basin paste one by one and drop into oil at medium heat. Let them fry until they are brown and crispy from both sides. Dish out the fries and enjoy while playing your favorite video game or watching instagram chat.   

                                        2.

SUJI  KEY LUDO (SEMOLINA BALLS)


Ingredients:

I cup suji (semolina)
¾ cup sugar
1 tablespoon cooking oil
3 tablespoon cream or Malai (freshly layered out from milk)
1 tablespoon milk


1 cardamom (green Elachi)

Method:

Pour oil into pan on medium heat. Add one 
cardamom (Elaichi). Add Suji into pan and stir the spoon for 2 minutes.  Add sugar into pan while stirring the spoon and cook for 2 more minutes until suji is light brown. Take out the pan from stove and add fresh cream and milk into suji thoroughly. Let it be cool and make small balls or ludo. Serve it with tea.
Semolina balls or suji kay ladoo is low budget, quick 
and tasty snack to be served as snack or breakfast.
                                  
                                    3.

CHICKEN CHUNKS

Ingredients:

Few pieces of chicken
Corn flour or white flour (maida)
Salt
Red chilly
Black pepper

Method:

Cut the chicken pieces into smaller chunks. Mix corn 
or white flour, salt, pepper and black pepper into one bowl and add water to make it liquidly paste. Dip chicken pieces into batter and fry it on medium heat. Enjoy crispy chunks with ketchup or chutney at evening snack or pack the chunks for school lunch if you could resist.
                              4.

PAN CAKES:


INGREDIENTS:
4 tb. Spoon white flour



3 tb. Spoon sugar
1 egg
2 tb. Spoon cooking oil or butter
½ cup milk         
SERVING: 2-3 children  

Method:

Mix all ingredients in the bowl and stir it to make a 

slightly thick batter. Now there are two methods of 


cooking this batter.



    1. Put frying pan or normal Tawa (griddle) on stove with medium heat. Let it be hot. Put oil on it as we do to make parathas then pour the whole batter on it and settle it with spoon. Let it cook from one side thoroughly. Then turn it carefully and let it cook.  Cut the triangular pieces once it’s ready.

   2. Heat the oil in frying pan and put the batter in it with spoon and cook the fluffy and healthy pancakes from both sides.

5. 
GRATED POTATO EGG KEBAB


Ingredients:
1 potato
1 egg
Salt
Pepper
Chopped coriander (dhania)
Chopped green chilies

Method:

Peel and grate (KADOKUSH) the potato. Squeeze the grated potato to let go the excessive liquid. Add one egg, salt, pepper, green chilies and chopped coriander with grated potato and mix with spoon.


 Heat the oil in fry pan. Drop the potato, egg mixture in fry pan by using spoon at some distance from each other. Let the kebabs cook from both sides. Taste it with ketchup or make instant potato, egg sandwiches.
                                6.

COCONUT BARFI (NARIAL KI METHAI)

Ingredients:

1 cup grated coconut
¾ cup sugar
2 tb. Spoon cooking oil
3 tb. Spoon fresh cream
1 cardamom

Method:
Pour the oil in pan on medium heat. Put cardamom in it and let it simmer for few seconds. Add grated coconut and stir it for two minutes. Add sugar and continue stirring for two more minutes. When coconut started to turn light brown then put off the heat. Add cream and mix thoroughly. Take out mixture at 1 inch deep greased dish. Let it cool and cut in square pieces as barfi.
Coconut barfi is an awesome evening quick snack that can also be served as dessert in any feast at home.
                                 7.

HOMEMADE ICE CREAM


Not so quick but an easy and low budget recipe of 
homemade ice cream

Ingredients:
2 cup milk
2 tb. Spoon sugar
2 tb. Spoon Jam e Shireen or any flavored soft drink of your choice or chocolate syrup
Serving: 2-3 kids

METHOD:

Mix milk, sugar, jam e Shireen (or any popular red soft drink) or chocolate syrup in jug. Pour 
portion of mixed liquid into ice cream moulds or in any regular cups at home.  Put the ice cream moulds or cups at freezer and enjoy homemade tasty ice cream after it’s fully frozen. Don’t forget to put spoon or ice cream stick in cups before putting it into freezer so that you can really enjoy it like you do with popsicles buy from the market.
This homemade ice cream is so quick, easy and 
chill in hottest day of summer which kids can make themselves only they’ve to watch the tick tock to pass the time.
                                8.

  POP CORNS:


INGREDIENTS:

½ cup of regular corns (can be bought from 
popcorn seller or from retailer shop)
Pinch of salt
1 tb. Spoon oil
Serving: 2-3 kids

Method:

Take one big pan and pour one tablespoon of oil 
in it. Add corns and pinch of salt. Hold the pan 
from both sides and mix it. Turn on the stove on medium heat. Put the pan on stove and cover it with lid leaving a very small gap from one side so that steam can find way to run out.

Wait for 2 minutes. The corns will start pop.  Just 
hold the pan from both handles with napkin and give it a jerk so the corns go ups and down in pan. Just two minutes more. The sound of pops will come to rest or will slow down. Put off the stove. Uncover the pan keeping your face away and welcome the pan full of white popcorns. Now just turn on your favorite movie and enjoy the popcorns.
                                   9.

NAMAK PARAY

Ingredients:
1 cup white flour(maida)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin(zeera) powder
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 teaspoon baking powder or meetha soda
1 cup lukewarm water
Cooking oil to fry
Method:
Take white flour,salt, cumin powder, baking powder and oil in pan. Make the soft dough (just like we make for making roti) with help of lukewarm water.  
Now take portion of dough and set it in circle with rolling pin just like we make for roti. Once the round bread or roti is set then cut the square pieces just like namak paray we buy from market.

Drop all pieces into hot oil and keep on turning them. Tasty and crispy namak paray are ready.

                               10.

DAHI BHALAY

INGREDIENTS:
3 tb. Spoon Basin( gram flour)
Salt of taste
Pepper of taste
Chopped coriander(dhania)
Green chili
¼ teaspoon Baking powder or meetha soda
Zeera powder
2 cup yogurt
1 Chopped boiled potato

 METHOD:

Mix basin, salt, pepper, meetha soda and zeera 
powder and add water to make it thick paste. Heat the oil and put the basin mixture in oil with spoon in circle form.  Take water in an open pan and put it aside. When bhalay is cooked from both sides then take them out and put straight into water. Mix yogurt, salt, pepper and boiled potato in separate dish. Squeeze the extra water from each bhlay one by one and set all bhalas in dish. Now pour a layer of yogurt mixture upon the dish. Tasty and healthy dahi bhalay are ready.
Garnish the dish with coriander and green chili and enjoy the recipe.

All above dishes are simple, quick and low 
budget maintaining the taste.  There is a 
combination of sweet and salty snacks which can
