SHAAN speaks many Pakistani hearts by standing against Turkish series Dirilis on PTV
Shaan is a veteran actor, promised producer, and commended director of Pakistan entertainment industry. SHAAN was the only actor who supported and stood by the Pakistan film industry when it was almost drowned in loss and defamation.
SHAAN is also applauded as a pro-Pakistani celebrity who refused many across border film offers when others were vowing for it desperately.
Now SHAAN again has spoken many hearts of Pakistanis by standing against the transmission of historic fiction Turkish TV serial on state TV channels PTV on Prime minister Imran Khan's recommendation.
Tweeter picks on a healthy debate among veteran actor SHAAN
and the followers on his stance against Turkish dramas in Pakistan.
When Pakistani viewers watch big historic Turkish serials like "Mera Sultan" and now "Dirilis" which are based on the great Ottoman empire then their eyes scroll to look the glimpses of heroes from their very own Mughal Empire.
Pakistani viewers want to see the dramas picturized in the Lahore fort. They want to watch King Akbar and Jahangir and Aurangzeb walking in beautiful Shalimar gardens amid prince and princes. The love story of Shahjahan and Mumtaz Mahal. The stories of rising and fall of the Mughal empire should come out of the history books to screen reality, they urge.
Many viewers want to capture the heroic life of Tipu Sultan, Muhammad bin Qasim from Pakistani TV channels but Pakistani TV channels are still stuck with second marriage issues, crying and sobbing leading females and mothers in law conspiracies.
SHAAN has spoken many Pakistani hearts and made it clear that he is not against Turkish dramas but it should not promoted by state channel. PTV should budget the big historical serials instead of borrowing other stories.
While answering the tweet of senator Faisal Javed, Shaan wrote that
"Try to find our own history and heroes"
Further he said,
" Bohat achi baat hai magar kb take hum magney huey lafzoon to say apni deewar muzboot karain gay...PTV should produce epics like this...no tamasha phir bhi paisa huzum..."
When many followers advise Shaan to produce such series himself then Shaan clarified his stance and hailed on state channel PTV and called for its audit.
"...Meray khyaal mai tau boat kuch bn skta hai magar haqeeqat may itna bra project hakoomat k interest k bagair nhi ho skta..."
SHAAN stood by its stance and called on comments that his pockets are not deep enough and he doesn't say anyone else to pay his bills, so it should PTV's initiative to start big projects instead of spending money on hiring and dubbing them.
"Where is cultural ministry? Once or PTV? Why do they get funds from our tax money? What are they doing?..." SHAAN's million-dollar questions have raised many eyebrows.
"What has PTV made in the past 30 years? or the other producers..."
SHAAN requested the Prime Minister to end the debate for believing in our talent and history.
Earlier, when the wave of Turkish dramas was knocking out Pakistani dramas then another veteran actor Faisal Qureshi also pointed out the issue that private produced want but they're scared to put such huge budgets on historical dramas and epics in fear of loss.
In a way, Shaan has challenged a dozing state channel PTV to find and start big historical projects of their own which have won many Pakistani hearts.
