NATIONAL MDCAT,ELIGIBILITY, MERIT,SYLLABUS,FEES-fusion stories


MDCAT Medical & Dental college admission test is an entry test taken by PMC, every year August to grab admission in medical colleges for MBBS & BDS. Now this term is widely used for the individual Medical entry test of private medical Universities in Punjab and Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan.  As per policies of Pakistan medical and Dental Council PMDC, an entry test result is mandatory to get admission in any private or public medical college in Pakistan. If you want to take admission in any medical college in Punjab then you've to appear in MDCAT entry test first. MDCAT entry test result can also be used to take admission in any private medical college of Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, GB and AJK too. There are 1 or 2 seats are also allocated in Public medical colleges of KPK, Sindh, Baluchistan and AJK on the basis of MDCAT result of Punjab students.

 MDCAT Entry test preparation and detail:


  • Any student who attains above 70% marks in HSSC or A level result is eligible to apply in MDCAT entry test.

  •  MDCAT entry test is objective type test with 200 MCQs. MDCAT test is  taken from four subjects Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English from the syllabus of FSc. It has 200 marks in total where every question gets 1 mark. The highest score of 2019 MDCAT entry test was 199/200 from a candidate Abdul Hannan Rashid from Faisalabad

  • According to notification of PMC 'no topic will be included outside prescribed Fs. Syllabi.
  • Students will be given objection form during exam to record objection against any question.
  • Any identified out of course question will be removed from total scoring.

         Biology   80 marks
         Chemistry  60 marks
         Physics       40 marks
         English       20 marks
  • The students with SAT 2 result can opt Math instead of physics in MDCAT entry test.
  • Calculators are not allowed in MDCAT entry test.
  • There is not any negative marking for wrong answer in MDCAT entry test 2020.
  • Matric or SSC marks are not included in merit of medical colleges. An aggregate of 50% marks from HSSC and 50% marks from entry test is taken into consideration while making the merit.
  • A full 20-marks for Hifz e Quran are added in aggregate result of MDCAT after taking a proper Hifz e Quran test of candidate which no doubt has great effect on merit.
  • After policy amendment by PMDC in 2020, A-level students have equal chance to apply and compete in MDCAT entry test for medical merit  if they have attained above 70% marks in Cambridge or in any other foreign examination. The medical merit for A-level students is a 50% and entry test result and 50%  MDCAT result will aggregate merit. Luckily, O-level students don’t need to push towards Fsc. to compete in MDCAT. They just require to revise their syllabus thoroughly, solve MDCAT and board passed papers and practice online MCQs to achieve high grades in MDCAT. 
  • MDCAT Entry test is centralized and will be taken on same date on allocated centres.
  • The passing marks of MDCAT entry test is 120/200 or 60%. If a students gets less than 120 or 60% marks in MDCAT entry test then he/she can't apply in any public medical college for admission.
  • MDCAT 2019 date was August 25, 2019 where 74,000 students appeared in MDCAT entry test and about 5000 students attained above 90% marks in MDCAT entry test 2019.
  • Test will be conducted on 15th November, 20 due to pandemic break.
  • UHS announced entry test dates and form can be downloaded from official website of UHS. The MDCAT entry test form is submitted with attested copies of CNIC, two passport size photographs, educational ceritficates, B-form/birth certificate with fees of 300.

  • MDCAT entry test result is out in September every year and medical colleges announce their admission dates for MBBS & BDS programs.
  • The medical classes start from December to March every year.
