STUDENT PROMOTION POLICY IN 2021 Grade 1- 8th BY PEC
Educational offices are working on making policies to make promotion policies for the students of grade 1 to grade 8 for educational year 2021, under the prevailing situation of corona virus school closure. There are many suggestions under review to save the student’s educational loss and academic year. The main question arise that students should be accessed through exam or just pass out them when schools remained closed almost 8 month in academic calendar.
Punjab Education Commission PEC has issued student promotion policy from grade 1 to grade 8 in year 2021. According to PEC the students’ educational loss is about 23% in corona lockdown school closure. Though many public and private schools conducted online classes to curtail the education loss but according to PEC online classes didn’t prove much effective. Students seemed less interested and less focused in online classes. Also many public school students relied on teleschool other than online classes.

PEC has suggested that students shouldn’t be promoted without taking an exam. According to policy of student promotion in 2021, student will be promoted from grade 1 to grade 8 on the basis of 50% homework and 50% MCQs test marks. Teachers will be trained to make concept based MCQ test of each subject in January and February. A concept based MCQ test of all subjects will be e mailed to all schools. Students will have to prepare from prescribed educed syllabus to give that annual MCQ test of all subjects. The MCQ based annual exam will be conducted in March 2021. The students from grade 3 to grade 8 will solve annual MCQ test to get promoted in the next class. Students from grade 1 and grade 2 will be asked oral questions instead of giving any written exam. The concept based MCQ test will conducted in schools as schools are likely to open by March 2021. On the basis of an aggregate result from 50% homework and 50% annual MCQ exam, the students will be promoted in nest classes.
All students will be issued proper report cards holding gained numbers of all subjects separately. The academic year will be started from April 2021 then.
Coronavirus pandemic lockdown has affected the educational
year calendar. The academic calendar of most public and private schools starts
in April and ends in March next year in all provinces of Pakistan. The schools
remained closed from March 15 to September 14 in first school lockdown, hen
from 9th November 2020 to 10 January 2021 due to surging cases of
