In Turkey the terms 'Ramzan Bayram' or 'Eid Bayram' are used for Eid and Eid holidays.

 Bayram is a Turkish word meaning holiday. Eid ul Fitr holidays are known as lesser bayram. Eid Bayram is celebrated in Turkey with traditional Islamic zenith combining the Muslim and ottoman traditions. People use to shop for new clothes, jewelry and sandals to celebrate Eid Bayram. 

Eid greetings in Turkey are 'be bayraminiz kutlu olson'. It means may your Eid Bayram be blessed.

Its is always a early rise on Bayram in Turkey where men go to mosques to offer Eid prayers and women start preparing desserts for the breakfast. The food for bayram is started to get ready from one or two day before. Children and young kissed the hands of elders after Eid prayers following the Turkish tradition. In return, elders give chocolates, candies, sugar coated almonds to children. Also elders give 'bayram money' to children wrapped in handkerchief. In Turkey, Eid money for children is wrapped in beautiful silk handkerchiefs. Afterwards, children go outside and knock each door to get Eid money and chocolates.

People celebrate Eid Bayram holidays visiting parks and recreational places. 



 The Bayram day festivity continues three days. Families visit each other on dinners and parties. Turkish people eat candies, chocolates, traditional halwas on Bayram. The music is enjoyed on Beyram holidays. Lesser Beyram is celebrated with more excitement. The markets are crowded with families doing shopping for new clothes, jewelry and sandles. Women wear expensive brooches, silk dresses on eid.

The Eid day starts with a traditional Eid prayers held in all mosques or at open places. The men of family perform Bayram (Eid) prayers in near mosques or visit old mosque to feel the essence of Eid.
