Class 11 and class 12 Elective subject list

Elective subjects are also called 'Ikhtiari Mazameen'

اختیا ر ی مضا مین that students choose at the time of admission in class 11 or class 9.

 Students have to choose any of the 3 subjects out of a given list in the college prospectus. The selection of elective subjects decides whether the student is in a science group or arts (humanities) group. The class 11 students choose any 3 elective subjects at the start of the academic session and study along with other compulsory subjects.

 The compulsory subjects are the subjects that every student needs to study and give exam to complete their academic session and to get a degree whether they choose science group or arts group. 

The compulsory subjects are:

•  Islamiyat اسلامیات
• Pakistan Studies, مطالعہ  پاکستان  
•  Urdu  اردو
• English. انگریزی

 Students can choose elective subjects according to their interests but there are some combinations of elective subjects that students have to choose as a group. They can't eliminate any subjects from that respective group. Forexampl the premedical group has three elective subjects:

 Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

Pre-engineering group students choose 

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

OR

Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science

The students of I-com, General group, and Arts also choose any three elective subjects at the start of class 11 to get their intermediate degree.

The above given elective subjects are offered in almost all government and private colleges. Some subjects are offered in technical colleges. Some elective subjects are offered only in girl's colleges while others in boy's colleges only. Some colleges offer limited subjects at their place. You can check any other institute for the subject of your interest.

Almost all Pakistani government and private intermediate colleges offer the above-given subjects. 

There can be some other subjects in other provides and exam boards.
