IKSC- International
Kangaroo Science Contest (IKSC) is an international character contest. It is
like popular International Kangaroo Mathematics test IKMC. The test format of IKSC is of Multiple Choice
Questions. The questions are designed to enhance the critical thinking skills
of participants. Students are then able to make interference and giving the
analytical reasoning approach to get a right choice. For now, there are 12
countries from America, Europe and Asia where IKSC test is conducted each year.
The IKSC member countries in 2021 are: Vietnam, Albania, Brazil, Czech
Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Romania, &
Russian Federation. IKSC tests are designed by Kangourou Sans Frontières in
each of its member countries but marked and checked nationally. The students
with higher scores receive prizes and certificates.
The purpose of IKSC
is to find some very effective way for bringing up the school children with an
aptitude of a research scholar. Around 2005, Science teachers and scientists
sat together in Saint Petersburg and created the science contest which has
different names such as “Explore and discover”, “International Kangaroo Science
Contest” and other names in different countries. In 2008 1st such science contest was
organized in Brazil, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Romania and Russia. Later
many other countries joined the contest.
IKLC is the
combination of the scientific pedagogical experience from a number of countries
with creativity goals. IKSC innovative questioning enhances student’s interest
towards Science. By participating in IKSC, students’ thinking, observing,
conclusion skills improve to international level. The students then can easily
pass national & international scholarship, entrance and job tests. The
Contest consists of Multiple Choice Questionnaire MCQs of twenty four to thirty
questions, depending upon the level (grade) of the student. For each question a
choice of five answers is provided.
From here you can
download IKSC Sample Papers & Past Papers. Students must practice from Past
Papers to get high scores in the contest.
For IKLC registration
fee & other details, one must contact to school or visit IKLC website in
the country. Only students from registered schools can take part in IKSC
competitions as the Participation in the Contest is possible through the
institution only. Individual participation is not possible in the IKSC. However
students can self practice IKSC past papers after downloading from the website
to improve their scientific and analytical skills.
