FATIMA SOHAIL AND MOHSIN "KHULA" AND INAPPROPRIATE VIDEO-fusionstories

Fatima Sohail seemed to appear in controversial video last week where Fatima Sohail dubbed very inappropriate dialogues. The video got viral and Fatima Sohail had to face backlash from folks all around country. Most people thought it is Fatima's attempt to enter the media again and is a publicity stunt. Some commented it as a Mohsin's revengeful effort to defame his ex-wife. Whatever it was but Fatima Sohail strongly refused to own any such video and approached FIA to take an action against the culprits. Earlier this year, Fatime came into limelight after accusing his husband who is a famous actor/singer for physically abusing her while she was pregnant. Then she applied to court for divorce from Mohsin.

“I, too, no longer wish to remain with Fatima Sohail. We’ve no reservations; the court should issue the decree,” Mohsin Abbas Haider testified in his statement against the court. Fatima Sohail had filed a case for “Khula” against her husband in July.

Fatima Sohail and an actor Mohsin Abbas appeared in the court along with their lawyers. Fatima Sohail stated that it is no longer possible for her to stay with her husband due to clashing differences.

In July, Fatima had alleged that she has been a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband Mohsin. Mohsin is an actor, host, and a famed singer. Mohsin appeared in a famous TV show MazaqRaat on Dunya TV (Although he has been cut out from the show after serious allegations against him). He was a part of super hit movie “Namaaloom Afraad” and many popular TV dramas are on his credit.

On getting the statements from both parties, the Lahore Family Court issued a decree in favor of Fatima Sohail and both have parted away. 

In July, Fatima posted the details of her domestic abuse on Facebook with her torn pictures. She told how she has been suffering of this attitude of her husband since November last year while she was pregnant. She alleged that when I caught my husband cheating on me and confronted him; instead of being embarrassed he started beating me. I was pregnant that time. She further told that she tried to hold the relationship for their child, but when I got my son, then Mohsin did not bother to check in his son.  After having the baby, when I went to Mohsin’s place and ask him to take his son’s responsibility, then he started beating me again and refused to do anything for his son.

“Now I’ve had enough…I had enough of verbal and physical abuse. I had enough of divorce threats.” Another place, she pointed out Mohsin to cheat on her by passing his time with a model Nazish Jahangir. Fatima also charged that Mohsin of borrowing 5 million rupees from her which never returned in an FIR which was filed against Mohsin Abbas Haider. Although Mohsin had refused all allegations against him.

The story is seemed to end for both parties, but there are a lot of stories where women are still suffering. We’ll end our story by Fatima’s note,

“Societal pressure or not, but there is a limit to put a full stop. No one else will do it except us for ourselves.”

Domestic violence against women should be taken on a serious note and abuser should be given a noticeable punishment.
