online schooling and parents' problems worldwide-&no internet, laptops and printers-frustrated parents on school closures-fusion stories

Parents are not teachers-online schooling challenges-unavailability of laptops and internet-corona virus school closure
Parents don't have access to internet mostly for online schooling

According to a report by UNESCO, about 83% of children attend schools worldwide. It means that 83% of kids go out and spend about half a day in school. Many teachers approach and teach
them Math, language, arts, geography, history, and sciences. These children come back with regular home assignments where mostly school teachers already guide them to cope with any problem. It doesn't seem much fuss to parents to deal with the routine homework of students or to grasp their attention towards homework. Coronavirus pandemics have changed the routines of everyone's ups and downs. On one side parent and children are struggling against the frustration of isolated life    worldwide and on another side, the financial pressures and online schooling is a big challenge for many parents. Even parents in countries like America, UK and France are facing problems to
to meet with online schooling. Anyone can see the interviews of parents on popular international news channels where parents are discussing their problems with online schooling in corona lockdown school closure.
No one was prepared for this and how could be....coronavirus pandemic outbreak didn't offer anytime to any school to pack their school break assignments or to manage their syllabus accordingly. The school management is trying hard to conduct online classes for students but parents are not satisfied enough.

Most of the parents don't have access to internet, laptops or printers for online schooling

Almost all schools are set to deliver their home assignments online through WhatsApp or Facebook groups but parents are having problems in getting the assignments.

'My kids' school send us assignments through WhatsApp group which were ms word document. I was not able to open the assignment as my mobile couldn't accommodate a word document. I don't have a laptop at home and it is difficult for us to see the assignments. I don't know, how can I get the home assignment of my kids, ' one mother told in frustration.

'I'  ve three kids and their school has sent us the home assignment while coronavirus school closure. I have a laptop at home but don't have an internet connection. At last, I was able to open the assignments. I tried to copy all assignments on loose sheets as I don't have a printer at home. I'm worried about my financial status and job security so it was not possible for me to get those assignments printed from the market or to buy them from school, ' another parent about.

Many schools are providing hard copies of assignments on payment at school gates considering the fact that many parents don't have access to a laptop, internet, and printers. Financially disturbed parents are constrained to buy those from schools.

Parents are not teachers-online schooling problems

Most of the parents are complaining that they're unable to help their children in the completion of assignments as they don't the basic concepts and methods which are needed there.

'The syllabus has changed a lot from the time when I was a student. I can aid my primary school kid don't complete their assignment but I can't go with the concepts of my secondary school kid. Math, especially Math, I've totally forgotten algebra and geometry. I hope this corona school closure finishes soon and my kids can go back to schools, ' one parent told.

'It is quite different from a normal summer break. Despite the effort, no one, either parents or children are assuming this corona school closure as a summer break. Parents day and night are thinking about their finances which are running short in corona lockdown. Children are very much disturbed about what suddenly has happened to the world outside. They're really missing outings and fun outside and are unable to concentrate on assignments. We're anxious about the study loss of our kids but asides we don't know how to persuade children's attention; hats off to teachers who make our children sit and work for long,' he continued.

Parents are unable to buy the stationery and books for new classes as shops are closed

In many countries like Pakistan, educational sessions were ended in the first half of March. Many schools sent online results and book lists to students for their new classes. Parents are unable to buy the books as stationery shops are also closed because of lockdown. Many shops and schools are offering online school book delivery but again parents want to delay the buying of books to save their pennies to meet any financial challenge in the near future. In the end,  children don't have the required stationery and books to study online.

Schools should give creative assignments more than syllabus related work. And online assignments should not be over-burden the parents or students.

The frustration that comes out of coronavirus school closure is one facet of coronavirus pandemic's wide social and financial damage around the world.
We all can hope and pray that all humans on earth come out of this corona test soon. The normal life and normal schooling make it's way back.
