A national hero is a person, who paves builds, and secures the nation’s foundation. A national hero bestows his/her life to guarding the nation’s interests. He thinks, works, and delivers just for his country. A hero can be a political figure, a warrior, a sportsman, an intellectual, or a social activist who puts up incredible success for his nation. Nations must remember and value their national heroes as a national hero is always an idol for the next generation. Pakistan is also blessed with great people who worked hard and dedicated their lives to safeguard the basis of their homeland. 1. Quaid e Azam
Mr. Jinnah was born on 25th December 1876 in Karachi. He foresaw the intentions of Hindus at the departure of the British from the subcontinent. Asides from forcing the British to leave the subcontinent, he struggled to get a separate land in the subcontinent where Muslims can live as per their religious and social values freely. The whole nation is thankful to Mr. Jinnah for his passion, consistent struggle, and success in achieving his goal of free land for Muslims, named Pakistan. That is why we call him a Quaid e Azam meaning the “biggest leader”. Quaid e Azam died on 11th September 1948 and was buried in Karachi.
2. Allama Iqbal
The foremost thing in any struggle is to instigate awareness and zeal in the hearts of participants. This is what Allama Muhammad Iqbal did with his blazing and insightful poetry. Born on 9th November 1877 in Sialkot, Allama Iqbal was a lawyer, philosopher, poet, a danditician. He gave an idea of independent land with the Muslim majority for the first time. Other Muslim leaders followed his dream and made it true. He is our national poet for his visionary and profound poetry for his countrymen. Allama Iqbal died on 21st April 1938 and was buried in Lahore.

3. Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed
Getting freedom was not a simple task itself but protecting the free land was tougher while having an enemy on the edge. India attacked Pakistan in the middle of the night and ran away leaving its logistics behind in the floodlight of the day because of warrior heroes like Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed. The nation has awarded him with the highest military award Nishan e Haider for his courage and bravery.
Shaheed Major Aziz Bhatti laid his life on 13th September 1965 while the war of 1965 while stopping the march of the enemy towards Pakistan.
4. Rashid Minhas Shaheed
The martyrdom of a teenage Airforce officer Rashid Minhas is an example for youth to live and die for motherland gives you eternal life. Born on February 17, 1951, Rashid Minhas, as a young airforce pilot, not only pointed out his traitor boss but halted his intentions to take a Pakistani fighter plane into the Indian border. Rashid Minhas laid his life on 21st August 1971. The nation has awarded him with the highest military award Nishan e Haider for his courage and bravery.

5. Dr. Abdul Qadeer khan
It was very important for a state that is constantly under the reckless attacks of the enemy to equip and safeguard it with the latest war techniques and weapons. Born on April 1, 1936, in Bhopal, India, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is a Pakistani scientist who left his work in Europe and came to Pakistan and aided the country to make an atom bomb. Many countries, despite having resources, money, and power, are unable to make an atomic bomb, and I must say, it is just because they don’t have a hero like Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. He is known as a “father of nuclear bombs” and his title is "Mohsin e Pakistan". Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan died on 10th October 2021 and he is buried in Islamabad.
6. Dr. Abdus Salam
Born on January 29, 1926, in a middle-class family in Jhang, Abdus Salam got a scholarship after breaking records of highest scores in Mathematics in GC University Lahore and went to Cambridge for higher studies. Dr. Abdus Salaam continued to unveil the mysteries of nature through his research in the fields of Mathematics and Physics. It was and still is not easy to achieve a noble prize in Physics but Dr. Abdus Salaam did it for his exemplary work in the development of science in 1979. Pakistan’s name got entered in the list of top literary persons of the world because of him. He is our national intellectual hero. Dr. Abdus Salam died on November 21, 1996.

7. Imran khan
Big international sports events are one place where the world knows about the competence and passion of any country when its winners stand at the top of the podium. Born on October 5, 1952, in Lahore, Imran Khan, most of you know him as a Prime Minister of Pakistan now, won the cricket world cup in 1992 and raised his country's name on the world grounds. His fight did not stop here. He then constructed the first free cancer hospital in Pakistan. Imran Khan is an example of a person who thinks, plans, and gets his goal by coping up with all fears and conventional theories with steady endeavor and focus. He is currently the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan and head of the ruling political party Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf PTI.
8. Jahangir khan
As sports is one field where the common man comes to know about many countries in real life which he sees on the world map. Squash is one popular game in Europe. Born on December 10, 1963, Jahangir Khan has won the World Open six times (1981-1988), and the British Open ten consecutive times(1982-1991) as a professional squash player. He had been unbeaten for a decade and raised Pakistan's name in foreign fields for years. Currently, this sports hero of Pakistan is living in Karachi.
9. Abdul Sattar Edhi
I feel blessed to tell you about our national hero whose name will be written in golden words because of his enduring social work in Pakistan. Born on February 28, 1928, in Bantva, India, Abdul Sattar Edhi was a great humanitarian. His organization provided shelter to orphans, widows, helpless persons. With the world’s largest free ambulance service, the Edhi foundation carries the many injured to hospitals. They buried unidentified corpses like their own family members. The list of Abdul Sattar Edhi’s noble work is very long. His organization is still working in Pakistan. He died on July 8, 2016, in Karachi. He is a chief guest on the list of our national heroes.
