 The Listeners-poem Walter De La Mare "THE LISTENERS" Summary The poem "The Listeners" is written by the poet "Walter De LA Mare" . In the poem there is a traveller who knocks on a moonlit door and asks, "Is there anyone in the house?" The traveller's horse silently grazes in the forest. The traveller impatiently knocks and repeats the question. There is no response from the house. The traveller stands there confused . It seems that there are some phantom listeners inside house and the phantom listeners are standing silent. The traveller feels strange and says louder to whoever is listening that he kept his promise and came but no one answered. Then the traveller sits on his horse and rides away. شعری اصطلاحات کیا ہیں شعر کیا ہوتا ہ؟ ?ش شعر عربی زبان کا لفظ ہے جس کےلغوی معنی جاننا یادریافت کرنا ہیں۔ شعر کو بیت بھی کا جاتا ہے۔ ہر شعرکے دو مصرعے ہوتے ہیں۔ ہر شعر کسی نہ کسی بحر میں ہوتا ہے۔ بحران موزوں کلمات کا نام ہے جن پر اشعار کا وزن ٹھیک کیا جاتا ہے۔ مثلاً یہ شعر بحر ہزج میں ہے اور اس کےہر مصرع کا وزن مفاعیلین چار بار ہے۔یعنی شاعری میں یوں تو بہت سی اصناف ہیں مثلاً غزل، قصیدہ، رباعی، قطعہ، مثنوعی، مرثیہ، مخمس، مسدس، ترکیب بند، ترجیع بند، نظم معرا، نظم آزاد وغیرہ لیکن شاعری کی اہم ترین صنف غزل ہے۔غزل میں شاعر اپنے خیالات کا اظہار نہایت لطیف طریقے سے کرتا ہے۔ غزل میں تشبیہ، تلمیح، استعارہ ، رمز و کنایہ اور زبان و بیاں کے منفرد انداز اپنا کر غزل کو جان دار اور دل ربا بنایا جاتا ہے غزل کے معنی بعض کے نزدیک غزل کے معنی ہرن کی چیخ اور بعض  کے نزدیک عورتوں سے یا عورتوں کے متعلق باتیں کرنا ہے۔ غزل کے بنیادی موضوعات دردوالم، حسن و عشق، محبوب و وفا وغیرہ ہیں لیکن اب غزل کا داٸرہ بہت وسیع ہو چکا ہے۔  اب غزل کے موضوعات عشق سے آگے فلسفہ زندگی، آگہی، سیاست اور تصوف میں بھی ملتے ہیں...

"The Twins" summary, Rhyming scheme,

 Summary of the poem "The Twins" In the poem "The Twins", the poet Henry Sambrooke Leigh expresses his anguish and pain, he felt the entire life because of his twin.  He told how he was unfairly attended by the society because of his brother's foolish attitudes and attempts.  He even once was punished for his brother.  The poet exclaims the situation the twins face in a lighter and humorous way.  The poem consists of three stanzas.  The rhyme scheme of the poem ", The Twins" is  ab cd ef ef, ab ab cd ed, ab ab cd ed.  At the end of the poem, the poet leaves a question to the readers how they would have proved their identity if they had they been in his place.
